The Department of Physics was established in the academic year 2021–22 to serve the Science stream under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). Initially, it was allied with Mathematics and Chemistry. Later, with the introduction of the Major–Minor system, Physics also became a Minor subject for B.Sc. Computer Science.

The department offers a comprehensive undergraduate program balancing traditional concepts with modern learning approaches.
